LOWA works to protect and improve the water quality of the Lake of the Ozarks watershed through water monitoring, education, volunteer cleanups, and conservation projects.
A watershed is an area of land where all water drains into a single body of water. At the Lake of the Ozarks, this includes streams, creeks, runoff, and surrounding land that all flow into the lake.
LOWA conducts water sampling, shoreline assessments, habitat restoration, pollution awareness programs, and community education to keep the lake clean and healthy.
