LOWA Mission
The Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance (LOWA) will preserve, protect,
and improve the Lake of the Ozarks watershed, its waters and natural
resources while maintaining our economic, social and environmental health.
LOWA Mission
Water Quality
Maintaining the health of Lake of the Ozarks requires us to recognize and
address not only the current, but also the future challenges facing the Lake.
Water Quality
LOWA coordinates efforts between local governmental entities, such as
municipalities and homeowner’s associations, and county and state
government to bring sewer systems to the Lake.
Lake Safety
Safety is the first priority. LOWA developed the Designate a Captain Program
to encourage the boat captains to stay sober while piloting their vessels.
Lake Safety
LOWA conducts numerous programs teaching property owners and schoolchildren
how vital they are in protecting this amazing area for generations to come.
Low Impact Landscaping (LIL) minimizes the deleterious effect of water run-off into
the Lake of the Ozarks by incorporating various techniques of landscaping.
Keep the Lake of the Ozarks clean by recycling materials
such as glass, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans.

2019 Fall Plant Sale Pre- Order

It’s That Time Again………

As in the past, you are being given the opportunity to pre-order (pay at time of pick up) top quality native plants at wholesale prices. These are beautiful, healthy perennial plants that grow stronger each year they are in your landscape. Fall is actually the best time of year to get these plants in the ground.

This is your opportunity to not only support LOWA and its efforts to keep our waterways clean but to also support our environment by establishing pollinator plots for endangered bees as well as flyways for the Monarch butterfly!

Pricing is as follows:
Wildflowers and Sedges/Grasses – quart sized pots — $4.50
Trees/Shrubs and Vines – quart sized pots — $6.00
–gallon sized pots — $7.50

To Pre-Order and pay at time of pick up:
Or Email your order to billington47@gmail.com along with your name, email address and phone number. Or you may call me at 573-372-5168. I will confirm your order with you along with the total that will be due at the time of pick up. Deadline for orders is September 23, 2019.

To Pick Up Your Order:
Plants will be available for pick up on October 8 between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. at the Sunrise Beach Firehouse Training Center, Highway 5 and Porter Mill Spring Road across from Hurricane Deck Elementary School.

Plants Available at the Sale
To ensure you are able to get plants you know you want, please pre-order. I will be placing a partial order with the vendor before the 23rd in an effort to hold plants that are wanted. So it would be helpful to place your order as soon as you can.
However, there will also be a selection of plants to purchase the day of the plant pick up. Gardening experts will be available to answer questions about native plants—the how, where, why and when.

• Native plants help manage storm water runoff, require less maintenance and provide wildlife habitat.
• The plants available at LOWA’s fall sale are top quality container grown plants from Prairie Hill Farm.
• Your purchase will help LOWA continue to educate Lake of the Ozarks residents on the preservation and protection of our lakes, streams and watershed.

Look over the attached plant list and let me hear from you!
Deadline for placing orders – September 23; Plant Sale/Pick Up – October 8.
